Field Notes

Description:

Similar to the American Pipit. During breeding period the males will have red throat or a red tint to the head. During the winter their color is Brown on back and buffy color underneath. Head, Back, chest and flanks have bold dark brown streaking. Faint eyebrow and bold mustache and throat. Bill is similar to the Amercian Pipit but darker about 60%. Legs are a pinkish color and dark patch on the sides of the throat.

Habitat:

These birds are preferring the open grassy and field area along with other birds.
