Field Notes

Description:

Torso approx. 35mm, with wings approx. 60mm.

Habitat:

I found two, both were in or on trees.

Notes:

This is a very large cicada. By far the biggest I have seen. The one pictured is colorful, but the other wasn't. Not sure if they're unrelated or that's sexual dimorphism.

Hyalessa maculaticollis (Robust Cicada?) is common in Korea, but I'm not sure this is it.
