From the National Audubon Society "Field Guide to Florida":
"6'. Open shrub. Leaves 4", oblong to oblanceolate, toothed. Flowers 1/3", star-shaped, white, in long arched clusters; bloom Apr.-May."
Habitat:
Wet woods (Pine forest, specifically).
Milton, FL. Blackwater River State Park. Juniper Creek Trail.
