Jewel Beetle
Agrilus sp
14.7, -91.29
Field Notes
Description:
Small Buprestids of about 8-10mm body length. The colour is difficult to describe, but some pale markings are present on the elytra and two pale triangles about half way down the abdomen. Two ridges run down from the protonum to the tip of the elytra. I didn't identify these as Jewel Beetles at first glance, mistaking them for moths of some kind.
Habitat:
Found among low vegetation on the way to the "Rostro Maya" in San Juan La Laguna, Lake Atitlán.
