Description:

Largest of the North American wading birds, the Great Blue Heron stands to an adult height of about 4'. It is mostly a blue- gray upper body with a pale or yellow beak. The head has a large very distinctive eye streak extending from bill to crown. Relatively common in many places.

Habitat:

Lakesw. rivers. streams, ponds and marches.
