Field Notes

Description:

A somewhat large bird that is . there is a black wedge on it's chest, black spots on a beige/yellow underside. The male has a red or black strips from the corners of the base of the beak to the joint of the head with the neck.

Habitat:

These birds are found throughout the Midwest. This one was seen in our back yard in Omaha, NE. While never numerous, they are not rare.

Notes:

Pretty birds.
