Field Notes

Description:

Small stripey sparrow with a buff or yellow eyebrow that calls "seep, seep" from the grass usually! but here it is calling from a tree as it waits for us to walk by on the trail so that it can take the food in its beak to its nest.

Habitat:

Brush near the shore of Lightning Lake, Manning Park, BC in the Cascade Mountain range. Evergreens, willows and tall grass on the other side of the trail where I think he was headed with this beakful.

Notes:

Name comes from Savannah, Georgia where one of the first specimens was taken!
