Field Notes

Description:

Ravens have wedge-shaped tails and are much larger than the American Crow. 23 - 24 inches.

Habitat:

This is my first spotting of ravens and was thrilled when three ravens landed in a dead tall tree in the wooded area of the backyard. One of the ravens proceeded to feed the young who was almost as big as the adult. Enjoyed watching them. They made no sound at all and quietly flew away after a while.
