Field Notes

Description:

Also known as hedge accentor, hedge sparrow, or hedge warbler; this is a sparrow sized, mainly brown and dark-grey bird. It is very discreet, moving fast and in t shade of shrubs, but it's not shy of people

Habitat:

Observed often on periphery of villages (like in this three separate occasions) and in heaths in open countryside close to shores or in marshes.

Notes:

I believe I often discarded my spottings of dunnock thinking it would be a sparrow, looking at it from a distance quickly moving in shade of shrubs - and this mainly because of its size and general brownish appearance.
