Description:

About 16mm wide with wavy brown patterns and several orange patches.

Habitat:

Resting on a wall under bright night lights at the local school.

Oh, I see, famous guy... I just ask for the shipping costs to Switzerland. From Costa Rica I have very unpleasent stories about 5 times the prices for the shipping than for the books...

Thanks for the help Doc. Yes I went past the Butterfly house version a couple of times but didn't see the match but of course once I had the name they popped up everywhere. Peter Marriott amazes me - he sees moths in ways we can only imagine. :-)

I agree with Testulata.

First sight Geometridae, Larentiinae, Pug Moth or whatever you call these ones in down-under... Easy one!? Not at all, I thought with this clear markings there must a match..., specially the reddish part not extanding to the margin. Maybe you have more luck and definitely better resources. http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/lare/lare-moths.html And not to forget, I might be completey wrong!
