Field Notes

Description:

The common name derives from the bright orange tips of the male's forewings.

Habitat:

Nature reserve near a fjord. Males of this species are seen at the edges of the forest. I saw them on both side of the small road that went through the forest. Females are mainly found in open meadows

Notes:

Norwegian name: Aurorasommerfugl
