Field Notes

Description:

4.18m tall with ash grey trunk bark and branches of reddish brown, this tree shows signs of uneven leave shedding.

Almost all of the south facing leaves have fallen while most of the north facing leaves remain.

Habitat:

Developed by Agriculture Canada at the Morden Research Station it is prefers a Hardines Zone of 3a but can withstand up to Zone 5.

It prefers full sun with moderate watering

Notes:

I believe that this years hot summer is to blame for the damage to the south side of the tree. Planting a companion tree on its south side to shield it from some of the sun heat.
