Description:

Boletes of various sizes with brown caps, purple stipes, and cream-colored pores.

Habitat:

Growing on the ground in a mixed forest.

Notes:

A number of compounds have been extracted from the fruiting bodies, including derivatives of ergosterol, which is a fungal sterol.
