Field Notes

Description:

Lovely orange milkcap with orange milk (or latex) and a white, spongy, hollow stipe or stem. It did not bruise green, which rules out Lactarius deliciosus var. deterrimus, which also has orange milk.

Habitat:

Mixed forest with lots of white pine and some hardwoods like oaks and birches
