Yea the chlorine certainly isn't very good for him, hope he found some better water :)
Thanks! He was in a chlorine pool and I scooped him out, that pic is of him resting and then he took off.
I have moved this to amphibians for you. This is the adult stage of this newt, and they are fully aquatic. Most people see the eft stage (terrestial stage) of this guy, and they are bright red and look quite different. Hope you released him somewhere near fresh water. Nice find!
