Description:

The Isabella Tiger Moth is an insect with yellow or tan wings that often have faint lines and small dark spots. It is a common moth in North America. Here is the life cycle of the Isabella Tiger Moth. First it starts as a larva, the wooly bear caterpillar. When the winter comes, the larva survives by using a chemical called cryo-protectant to prevent it from getting hurt or freezing. Also, the larva won’t move. Later in the spring, when the temperature is 40s-50s, it will start moving again. When the wooly bear caterpillar gets hungry, it’ll eat herbs, grasses, leaves, and wild flowers. Many winters later, it will turn to its chrysalis form and soon emerge from the chrysalis. When it emerges from the chrysalis it will be the Isabella Tiger Moth. The moth will find a mate quickly and soon lay eggs because they have no mouths so they will starve to death. That is the life cycle of the Isabelle Tiger Moth.

Habitat:

It is a common moth in North America, found in grassy meadows and other habitats.
