Field Notes

Description:

Small, black plant bug about 5 mm long. It has a fine hair on the exoskeleton. The feburs are red and tibia are black. The membrane is a reddish-black. It's hard to tell but it looks like the eyes have a slight reddish coloring as well.

Thank you as always! It sure does seem to be I. brachycera, even down to the habitat. I'll also reach out to Michael :-)
Miridae, Mirinae, Irbisia sp., another tricky one. Obviously there is a sexual dimorphism, some female without reddish legs. Surface is also difficult to judge, depending one light and light angulation. Some you can easily kick out, others such as Brachycera (which is my favorite), Solani, Pacifica and Mollipes are not so clear to distinguish.
