Description:
It is a slender 15–16 cm long bird, with the characteristic long, constantly wagging tail of its genus. It is the shortest tailed of the European wagtails. The breeding adult male is basically olive above and yellow below.
Habitat:
Side of the road, open countryside. More pastures and less cultivated area, with some shrubbery. Large ponds some distance away from the spot.
Notes:
There were a few individuals flying nearby but I couldn't quite catch a good glimpse of them, so I can't be very sure with the subspecies, although there are only 2 of them in Romania, M. f. flava and M. f. feldegg. Second one has black head, so this one could have been M. f. flava.
