Description:
Large flower head 2-3 inches wide, with a brown button-like center surrounded by daisy like yellow petals. Leaf is long, slender toothless, very hairy.
Habitat:
Spotted at Tamarac near the Visitor Center. This plant grows in dry, open fields, prairies and deciduous woods.
Notes:
Also called the Brown-eyed Susan. Its seeds are a food source for Goldfinches and House Finches.
