Description:

Female of the species foraging in an urban area.

Habitat:

Sub-tropical insular environment.

Notes:

Spotted within the boundary of Fort DeRussy in Waikiki. Also known as the Red-crested cardinal, its native range is central and east-central South America. Unlike the red-crested males, the females are brown-crested. It is an introduced species in Hawaii.
