Field Notes

Description:

Medium-sized green frog. Green frogs have dorsolateral ridges that run down the sides of their backs, which distinguishes them from bullfrogs, which lack them.

Habitat:

I saw this frog hanging out in a small frog pond.

Notes:

This frog stayed very still as it was being carefully watched by a garter snake, who was hanging over the edge of the pool. The snake ended up being scared away by my not-so-quiet 5-year old and the frog got to live to see another day. The spotting of the snake is here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1099904191
