Field Notes

Habitat:

Found on rocky bottom and on Posidonia beds. Feed on fishes and crustaceans. Also found in muddy and algal or seagrass overgrown substrates. Reported to be a simultaneous hermaphrodite, which tends to spawn from early spring to early summer.
