Field Notes

Description:

Deciduous shrub about 2.5 meters tall, turning beautiful fall colours in the autumn. White cup-shaped flowers.

Habitat:

Mixed forest, usually moist but this year, very dry understory meant not many fungus or mushrooms were present here.

Notes:

The leaves of White-flowered Rhododendron were used by the Okanagan First Nation as a tea. The Skokomish used the buds boiled in water as a sore throat remedy. Pojar and Mackinnon
