Description:

Small light brown mushrooms stacking on top of each other forming clumps.

Habitat:

Leaf litter under trees.

Thanks again Machi. I'll look at it.
In the first photo I didn't notice the cedar (?) leaves, and only originally saw the oak leaf. I think Hypholoma capnoides could be another option.
I agree with Machi. Smooth cap and no stem ring or remnants of a stem ring suggest a different species.
Is it edible! One similar looking I've seen kill many people!
Smooth cap is a good indication that a mushroom you have found is not Armillaria mellea
