Description:
It is a rather small moth with a 30 mm. wingspan.This moth is in the family, (Erebidae).The moth has brown fore wings with pale hind wings.The larvae feed on low-growing legumes, including alfalfa, bean, clover, pea and soybean. They also feed on woody legumes such as false indigo and locust. Other reported hosts include birch, cherry, corn, elm, hackberry, New Jersey tea, poplar, ragweed, sida, strawberry and willow. Hackberry and clover is probably what they feed in this area because they are common plants.The fore wings also have a black line with a pinch of red.
Habitat:
Semi-urban, Fort Worth, Texas.
Notes:
The moths distribution is from Canada to Florida and Texas.
