Field Notes

Description:

The katydid has some great camouflage, and possibly some mimicry as well: the brown spots could be an imitation of leaf damage. I almost didn't see this one at first.

Habitat:

Yard

Notes:

This species often makes its calls from the tops of trees and comes to lights at night.
