Heliotrope Moth
Utetheisa pulchelloides
15.4562, 119.921
Field Notes
Habitat:
Spotted in our backyard on Indian Heliotrope (Heliotropium indicum Linn.)
Notes:
The Heliotrope Moth is usually present, in great numbers, in our area every year, during the months of May June and July. However, this year we have had a prolonged period of drought and, despite some rain showers in the last few days, the grasses and the Indian Heliotrope (the host plant of this moth) have not yet sprouted. So, no Utetheisa pulchelloides yet. The photos shown here were taken back in 2016.
