Field Notes

Description:

This Brandon Elm seems to have European elm scale. The branches have been pruned, possibly to prevent the pests from moving into them during winter. The tree looks blackened and has white circular outlines, some with brown on the inside. Survival of the tree seems unlikely.

Habitat:

The Brandon Elm was one of four or five along the south side of the Wetlands.
