Field Notes

Description:

Really small (less than 1cm) and of a shiny dark brown tone. A yellow/white line divides both its back and a black spot on its end. Also has two short lines, one black and one yellow/white on the sides of its back. It kept trying to hide in the sand or between my fingers, never saw it attempt to fly and usually just fell off of places.

Habitat:

Found on the beach during a warm, sunny day, hiding in the sand.

Notes:

My father found this one while we were walking through the beach. Then I started seeing them almost everywhere.

@stho002: Oh! I couldn't find exactly what it was, but with your information I was able to match it with the "Odontoscelis" specie. I'm unsure if this one is a "Odontoscelis fuliginosa" or a "Odontoscelis lineola" or if it has another name as I can't find anything else on it through the internet. I'll keep researching. Thank you!
