Field Notes

Description:

A large, over 30 cm in length, easily recognized, grey parrot with red tail, white face and black beak. Noisy.

Habitat:

This parrot occurs in central African region, prefereing forests and wooded areas, including palm plantations. Here, seen in a well wooded residential area, neighboring the city park on banks of river Congo.

Notes:

I only had a time for these two furtive clicks, before this beauty disappeared and did not have other chance than cross the path of another African Grey in natural environment... I have another spotting of this species, but that was a domesticated bird...
