Field Notes

Description:

One of the large cuckoo birds. They are tan or brown with black streaking on the upperparts and chest. The crown is black with small, pale spots, and they have a patch of bare, blue skin behind the eye. The wings are dark with white highlights.

Habitat:

Spotted this one at the center park and followed it to the open field. There are several in the area.

Thanks. Yes they are entertaining and fast. They are usually being chased by mockingbirds and have to duck and dodge as they go. :)
