Description:
There are various creatures which make burrows similar to these and it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish a rat's hole from one made by a frog. However, if you see several holes, in close proximity to each other and they are in or around a rice field, in the Philippines, it is almost certain that you are looking at the burrows of Freshwater Crabs from the Subfamily Parathelphusinae.
Habitat:
These Freshwater Crab Burrows were spotted in a rice field which is completely parched at this time of year, the peak of the dry season.
