Field Notes

Description:

Pale yellow and black with dark tinted wings. About 22mm long.

Habitat:

On small coastal acacia. The area also had some saltbush and other low scrubby plants.

There is a subspecies 'dessicatus' possibility but I can't yet find documentation to determine the differences. <br>

I think you finally found the specie, good job Mark!
Good call Juan! We believe we have the ID but this one is very pale by comparison so likely a very 'fresh' one.

I think the problem with this wasp, is freshly emerged, so colors or even structures are not yet well defined
How curious. This does look like a sawfly.
