The chestnut munia (Lonchura atricapilla), formerly considered as a subspecies of the tricolored munia, is also known as black-headed munia. It is a small passerine bird.

Habitat:

Exact location of the nest was unknown. Spotted near residential houses in Gerona, Tarlac Province, Philippines.

Thank you, Paul. Although the Chestnut Munia was once the national bird in our country (before this was changed to the Philippine Eagle - Pithecophaga jefferyi), most Filipinos (including me) thought the Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus) was the national bird since these are more abundant.
