Description:

genus Physalis includes many species in the nightshade family (Solanaceae); fruit is similar to a small tomato, but it is enclosed in a husk, like a tomatilla; papery covering over the fruit resembles a lantern,
small downward-facing yellow flowers with 5 points & brown center blooming now in September; deeply toothed margins on leaves

Habitat:

popped up in urban school garden as weed
