Field Notes

Description:

I can honestly say I've never seen this... What I assume to be a bee with its abdomen curved upward and a bright yellow underside.

Habitat:

Grassy area.

Species ID Suggestions

Comments (1)

Very likely a bee from Genus Megachile. These bees collect pollen on the underside of their abdomen instead of on the hind legs. The yellow you see is pollen. Here is the Bug Guide page for the genus: http://bugguide.net/node/view/7751
