Hi xomeritis and Malcolm! It's a slightly tricky one, but there a few distinguishing features which show that this is the Southern White Admiral (Limenitis reducta) and not the White Admiral (Limenitis camilla): - the pattern of white cells on the forewing - the presence of a single row of black spots at the edge of the wings for L. reducta, as opposed to a double row for L. camilla. The two species are easier to tell apart on a ventral view. For comparison see: http://www.eurobutterflies.com/species_pages/reducta.htm http://www.eurobutterflies.com/species_pages/camilla.htm http://www.butterfliesoffrance.com/html/Limenitis%20reducta.htm http://www.butterfliesoffrance.com/html/Limenitis%20camilla.htm
Looks like it has worn away most of the white barring on the trailing edge of the wings.
