Field Notes

Description:

Males, females the same, distinguished by the black "necklace" around the breast. striped through the eye lords are the primary diagnostic feature that distinguishes the Greater, from the Lesser Necklaced Laughingthrush. 33 cm in length.

Habitat:

Mixed evergreen and deciduous forest, bamboo from lowland plains to 1200m.

Notes:

Shot from a blind near Baan Maka Chalet(birding resort), just outside Kaeng Krachan National park.
