Description:

The Vestal (Rhodometra sacraria) is a moth of the family Geometridae. It inhabits meadows, forest clearing, paths, gardens and urban environments. These caterpillars feed on knotgrass, dock, Anthemis, Emex, Oxygonum, Persicaria, Rhus and other low growing plants.
This female adult was spotted resting in the front door of a house in Tzoumerka mountains, Epirus region, Greece.
