Christine - Very cool. I did not even notice that white spot. Thanks for the info on this.
I researched this a bit further and do think that white dot is probably an egg - possibly a Tachinid fly egg.
I have never seen one with the white dot between the eyes like this before, and am wondering if you remember if the dot was flat or 3-D. I think it might be a parasitic insect's egg. If this is the case, then the larva that hatches out of the egg will then proceed to eat this bug from the inside out.
