Field Notes

Description:

Above this butterfly is a bluish/gray with a red spot near the tail. Beneath is gray with a series of light spots on both the front and hindwing bordered by orange. The hindwing has a series of black spots on it along with an orange area.

Habitat:

Most often found in non-forested areas and in weedy fields. This one was spotted in a butterfly garden.
