Field Notes

Habitat:

This very small Tube Spittlebug was spotted in our vegetable plot on String Beans (Vigna unguiculata), known in the Philippines as Sitaw. Plant information from http://www.stuartxchange.org/Sitaw.....

Notes:

This insect is a member of the Family Machaerotidae and I am pretty sure it is in the Genus Machaerota, but I am not yet certain. Wikipedia has a lengthy list of species for Machaerota and I still working my way through them. If I get lucky, I will update this spotting to species level.
