Description:

This may be Atractomorpha sp., a genus in the Pyrgomorphidae family of short-horned grasshoppers (suborder Caelifera). See http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_grasshoppers/Pyrgomorphidae.htm

Habitat:

Observed on ornamental vegetation in a large semi-urban yard & garden situated next to a disturbed patch of remnant forest, in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.
