Field Notes

Habitat:

This Jumping Spider was spotted, in our backyard, on White jute (Corchorus capsularis) known in the Philippines as Saluyot. Plant information from http://www.stuartxchange.org/PasauNaBilog.....

Notes:

There are only three Cosmophasis spp. present in the Philippines, according to Wikipedia. They are #1. Cosmophasis trioipina Barrion & Litsinger, 1995. #2. Cosmophasis estrellaensis Barrion & Litsinger, 1995 and #3. Cosmophasis parangpilota Barrion & Litsinger, 1995, the spider shown here. I have not been able to find any information or pictures of C, trioipina or C. estrellaensis, but there is a photo of C. parangpilota in https://www.dreamstime.com/stock-photography-cosmophasis-parangpilota-i….... I should mention that this is a website which sells pictures of spiders and insects.
