Description:

Bright red, crested bird with stout bill and black face.

Habitat:

Brushy areas with open spaces. Ranges from eastern U.S. through Great Plains, and Mexico and southern Arizona. This spotting in riparian zone of Sonoita Creek, southern Arizona.

Notes:

Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Reserve, Arizona.
