Description:

Small herbivorous mammal. The second pic shows the rock hyrax, known in South Africa as dassies, perched on a ledge high above the Table Mountain cable car.

Habitat:

Cliffs on top of Table Mountain

Notes:

The only living species in the genus Procavia, more closely related to elephants than they are to rodents.
