If I might use your spotting to pass on some general advice to the greater community. albear1960 has passed on his opinion of the species identity of your spotting in a comment. That's certainly an appropriate use of a comment. But an even better way to convey this message is by making a "species ID suggestion". That way other users can agree with the suggestion simply by adding a "+" (plus) by clicking. If a species ID suggestion gets 3 pluses it can be considered identified by default. Interestingly, the Wikipedia entry appears to perhaps not include Tennessee in the Ebony Jewelwing's range, depending how "mid-Atlantic" is defined. (Now I mention Wikipedia because it is on of the main sources of species information for Project Noah. This is probably because it is the most comprehensive source of such information readily available.) However the species range certainly does include Tennessee http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/distr/insects/dfly/tn/5.htm (as well as Missouri, where I am :-) So never be satisfied with just one source, that's my advice!
