Description:

These were egg/cocoon type homes for a winged insect. I will attach other photos. Any idea what bug? Cool, huh?

Looks like a nest of what we would call "dirt daubers"... the species I'm familiar with made different types of nests though, so that's all I got. If you remember what the bug looked like you might be able to identify it with this: http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20q?guide=Sphecidae
