Very tough and sad image.... its eyes are not totally dim like it hasn't been dead very long. In Maine they are also recording where animals are most often hit along highways to determine wildlife corridors. Thanks for the explanation it helps

This photo was taken along a coastal highway that is loaded with wildlife. Often times traffic and animals interact in tragic ways. This is not the first time I have seen a dead coyote, however, this is the most unhealthy one I have observed. Roadkill can be reported to a nonprofit website which builds statistics to create awareness of anthropological impacts on the natural world. Sometimes this leads to wildlife corridors, etc.

Oh, now I see... Building a collection on the subject. Interesting choice. Unusual, but very interesting also. If only we had the story or at least your idea of what append to those animals... In my modest point of view, such collection can also be of help for scientists. What's happening to wildlife? Where? When and why? Thanks for sharing. I'll be following.
