Description:
Sea Oats. Native to salt water environments. Tall stalks, with deep, tight roots, suited to keeping hold of loose soil.
Habitat:
Found along the East Coast, Including the Barrier Island chain, marshland and wetlands, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Notes:
Due to their loose soil holding properties, in most states along the East Coast, Sea Oats are protected. As they are an important natural defense of coast land. It is against the law to pick, disturb or destroy them. Especially in the Barrier Island chain of the East Coast.
